Sherrey.

The inscription reads:
"Here lyes the body of SHERREY, Negro servant (slave?) of John Hunt. She departed this lyfe (date unreadable) 1762, in the 80th year of her life."

This is the very first time I'd seen a grave marked in such a way. Her "Master" has his grave on the other side of the street. Her grave is alone...how sad. There are no other graves even remotely near her for about 100 feet around. Curious how her "Master" is buried, along with his family, so far away. This is in the old part of the cemetary.
