John Spiers (1864-1880)
Made of white sandstone, this stone has an oval with the name and identifying
information (that he was born in Scotland, but died in Providence, R.I.)
with dates; above the oval is roses, with the flower itself wilted, lying
on the oval, and the leaves stretching out; ivy leaves point straight up
under the curved roof, which has a clubbed cross. Directly below (on the
base) is verse (but now due to age unreadable). Next to him (on the right)
is more of his family (possibly his child or grandchild). This stone is on
the left of the road, in the back.
