Pocasset Cemetery
417 Dyer Street, Cranston, RI 02920-7008

Incorporated in 1874 and the first burial was January 2 1877 - 390 stones in this cemetery
predate this (from the late 1700's) indicating that many cemeteries may have moved into this cemetery.

James Arnold recorded this cemetery 13 Nov 1892 (Vol 4, Pg 1-571). At Dyer's Nursery is
a large cemetery known under the incorporation act as Pocasset (which started out as the
family lot of Charles Dyer, whose family lot has been enlarged several times) but which
now is enclosed by a suitable fence. South and southeast of this are various lots which
have interments in them, including an extensive Potter's Field, with small mixed stones
and numbered markers.
