Newman Congregational Church Cemetery
Corners of Newman Avenue and Pawtucket Avenue
East Providence, RI 02914
Founded in the early 1700's, the lot is 100 acres, which is still
in use today. It is now divided by Newman Avenue, which separates the old
from the new cemeteries. The oldest part has stones dating
from 1700 to 1895, with a bronze plaque on a pillar that commemorates
the first Pastor of Rehoboth in 1681. The new part of the cemetery
faces Pawtucket Avenue and St. Margaret's Church, with burials from
1900 to today.
