I liked this stone...it has raised carving of an urn, with flowers
(resembling bluebells?) on each side. A flowered bier is draped over
the urn. This is black shale and near the Cannonball Monument.
The epitaph reads thus:
SACRED
to the Memory of
Capt. Samuel
SLACK,
who died June 5, 1806,
in the 68th year
of his Age.
Father, I give my spirit up,
And trust it in thy hand
My dying flesh shall rest in hope;
and rise at thy command.
