Newell Burying Ground--Read Trio

The Read Trio.

I thought that this stone was truly unique...it's all one piece, with three separate names and dates inscribed on it. Lydia E. Read died October 22, 1841, aged 2 months; Nelson R. Read died October 30, 1841, aged 7 months (center inscription) and Charles E. Read died November 4, 1835, aged 3 months.

I am curious to know how the inscriptions were done.......was the stone removed three times for each death, or inscribed twice: once for Charles (who died first) and the other two later? This stone is on a hill facing the dirt street, but sideways to the main cemetery road.
